Stingray leather

Genuine stingray, never a print. Every skin is farm-raised and fully documented, each piece is made by hand, and the beading falls differently on every hide.

How the sourcing works, and what we do not claim

9 pieces

Stingray does not behave like the other skins. The surface is covered in small calcified beads, closer to enamel than to leather, and they make it one of the hardest wearing materials that can still be cut and stitched. A stingray wallet does not scuff the way calf does, because the part taking the wear is not really skin.

Most hides carry a line of paler beads across the back, and it is left where it falls rather than cut around. Every stingray skin here is farmed and CITES certified. The beading has to be sanded level before a piece is assembled, which is slow work, and it is the reason stingray turns up on smaller pieces more often than on large ones.
