Shipping and Delivery
When a piece leaves us and when it reaches you.
Every piece is cut and made to order. What follows is how long that takes, what it costs, and what happens if something goes wrong on the way.
What shipping costs
Shipping is free, worldwide, on every order. There is no threshold and no express surcharge.
How long it takes
We dispatch within one business day of your order being ready. Processing and shipping together run 5 to 15 business days.
Orders are not dispatched or delivered at weekends or on public holidays. If we are carrying an unusual volume, a shipment can run a few days late. When a delay is significant we write to you rather than leave you waiting.
Orders with more than one piece
If one item in your order is out of stock, we hold the order until every piece is ready and send it as one shipment.
Your address
Please check your shipping address before you confirm. Because we move quickly to dispatch, the window to correct an address is short. If you think you have given us the wrong details, write to us at once and we will do what we can.
Duties and taxes on international orders
For shipments outside the United Kingdom, any import duties or taxes charged on arrival are payable by you. These are set by the destination country, not by us, and we cannot calculate or collect them in advance.
Permits, and taking a piece across a border
Crocodile, alligator, python and lizard are species listed under CITES, the convention that governs international trade in them. The permits for the hides sit with us and with the tannery, so there is nothing for you to arrange in order to receive an order.
What can matter is later. A finished article made from a listed species may need documentation of its own when you carry it across a frontier, in either direction, and the rules belong to the country you are entering rather than to us. If you expect to travel with a piece, write to us before you do and we will tell you what we hold for it. CITES and Sourcing explains how the convention works and which of our materials it covers.
If a parcel is lost or stolen
We are not able to take responsibility for parcels that are lost or stolen after delivery. If tracking shows your parcel as delivered and it is not with you, report it to your local authorities, then write to us and we will help you with whatever documentation you need.
Following your order
Every order gets a tracking reference by email once it leaves us. You can also follow it on the Track Your Order page.
