Colour is what this one is about. Python dyed to fuchsia, to pale pink, and to a pastel green scattered with small gold stars. The scales stay legible under the dye, in rows that narrow towards the base.
A short handle of gold chain and leather sits over the zip. A longer chain clips at both sides for the shoulder or across the body. Hardware is gold throughout.
The body is domed, wide at the base and rounded over the top, with room inside for what a day or an evening takes.

Python scales overlap in one direction, like roof tiles, and that direction decides how the piece is cleaned. Always wipe from the head end towards the tail, along the way the scales lie. Wiping against them lifts the edges and they do not settle back.
A soft dry cloth is enough. Keep the piece out of direct sun, which fades the markings, and away from damp, which is what makes scales curl.
Condition it lightly and rarely with a product made for snake skin. Too much softens the scale edges and they begin to catch.
Store it flat or lightly stuffed, in its dust bag. A lifted scale can often be laid back down by a specialist, so bring it in rather than gluing it.
